theworstsaturdayever.

dear all.

welcome to my blog! i'll keep you posted on the stories from the states, always using the correct grammar, of course. (but no capitals. i don't like capitals.)

so. satuday the 29th of March was possbly the worst 31 hours of my life. (yes. 31 hours because of the time distance.) the plane trip over was long and exhausting... and of course the one inflight entertainment screen on the whole plane that was broken... was mine. so i drifted in and out of awkard sleep for 14 hours while the man next to me laughed hysterically at whatever comedy he was watching on his (working) inflight entertainment screen. i stopped over in LA for 6 hours before my connecting flight to denver and during that time i threw up, fell asleep on a business class lounge, got kicked out by some old guy then was told that my flight to denver was full and that i would have to stay in LA overnight for another flight. luckily, a lady didn't show up at the last minute, so they gave me her seat.

i was picked up at denver airport and driven to the ywam base. i still felt really sick - queasy and headachy - so i went straight to bed. the next 17 hours consisted of falling asleep, waking up because of my hrobbing headache, taking panadol, then throwing up the panadol, and then that all over again. so that was gross. the ywam'ers explained that it was altitude sickness, because my body isn't used to the thin air up here.

in amongst al this i happened to look out the window and saw snow falling... the first time i have ever seen snow... i always imaginged it would be a more romantic experience, but no it was "blaaah" "oh wow, it's snowing" "blaaaah". yukky.

anyway i finally woke up feeling better and have met a bunch of lovely people who took me bowling and shopping at walmart. fun times!! school starts tomorrow, so i am really excited to meet everyone!

(and yes, in case you were wondering, i do already have an accent.)

Hey, it's Harrison, that seems really bad, and it must have been so boring not being able to watch anything because the tv for u was broken! Me and slimy don't even get one either!

"headache, taking panadol, then throwing up the panadol, and then that all over again. so" That must have been so bad.

Well at least you got on the flight to Denver instead of having to stay the night, in a hotel, or at the airport!

People at church (scott mosley) prayed for you. And we are getting a new washing machine, which will make mum happy.

MUM: Says that it is really good that all your bags got through and that you were not "mugged".

DAD: Has $250 phone credit that expires today so he wants to call you, all they get is your reccorded message, so if you have taken your sim out, and the day here has not ended put it back in.

I am going to teach mum and dad, how to reply later today, then i will send an email to the grandparents on how to view/reply.

So sad that your flight was horrible. I hate it when things don't work on planes. Soooo unfair. And soooo boring to travel all that way without any entertainment.

Church was good last night. Music group did really well. Regina stepped up and did a good job leading the singing.
Did you leave a roster of songs and band for Camilla?
I am glad that it is snowing and that you got to see you weren't missing out on anything much - except being very cold!

I am also glad that you have met great people. Of course I knew you would make friends straight away.
I hope the first day of the course is great. I want to hear about everything you are learning and doing.

love,
Dad
