dear all.
welcome to my blog! i'll keep you posted on the stories from the states, always using the correct grammar, of course. (but no capitals. i don't like capitals.)
so. satuday the 29th of March was possbly the worst 31 hours of my life. (yes. 31 hours because of the time distance.) the plane trip over was long and exhausting... and of course the one inflight entertainment screen on the whole plane that was broken... was mine. so i drifted in and out of awkard sleep for 14 hours while the man next to me laughed hysterically at whatever comedy he was watching on his (working) inflight entertainment screen. i stopped over in LA for 6 hours before my connecting flight to denver and during that time i threw up, fell asleep on a business class lounge, got kicked out by some old guy then was told that my flight to denver was full and that i would have to stay in LA overnight for another flight. luckily, a lady didn't show up at the last minute, so they gave me her seat.
i was picked up at denver airport and driven to the ywam base. i still felt really sick - queasy and headachy - so i went straight to bed. the next 17 hours consisted of falling asleep, waking up because of my hrobbing headache, taking panadol, then throwing up the panadol, and then that all over again. so that was gross. the ywam'ers explained that it was altitude sickness, because my body isn't used to the thin air up here.
in amongst al this i happened to look out the window and saw snow falling... the first time i have ever seen snow... i always imaginged it would be a more romantic experience, but no it was "blaaah" "oh wow, it's snowing" "blaaaah". yukky.
anyway i finally woke up feeling better and have met a bunch of lovely people who took me bowling and shopping at walmart. fun times!! school starts tomorrow, so i am really excited to meet everyone!
(and yes, in case you were wondering, i do already have an accent.)
